Day 1: CITY OF ORIGIN - COLOMBO

Breakfast and departure towards the island's south coast. The first stop will be in Weligama to observe the famous pole fishermen, a unique ancestral fishing tradition of this region. Watching the fishermen balanced on thin poles in the water is an unforgettable experience. Then, we continue to Galle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we will explore the 17th-century Dutch fort. We will stroll through its narrow cobbled streets lined with colonial houses, charming cafes, and shops. We will walk along the fort walls to enjoy views of the Indian Ocean and the historic lighthouse. We will continue along the coast to Balapitiya where we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we will take a boat safari on the Madu River, passing through dense mangrove forests, observing birds, lizards, and all kinds of wildlife. Arrival in Beruwela, one of the island's earliest Muslim settlements, now a quiet coastal town. Dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast and departure for Tissamaharama, gateway to Yala National Park. Arrival and lunch. Afterwards, we will embark on an exciting approximately 3-hour game drive in a 4x4 vehicle in Yala (or Udawalawe, depending on the season). Yala is famous for its high density of leopards, as well as wild elephants, sloth bears, spotted deer, and abundant birdlife. The game drive takes you through bushland, plains, and forests, providing a diverse and exciting wildlife experience. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel. The day begins with a visit to a tea plantation and factory. We will learn about the production process of world-famous Ceylon tea, from harvesting to brewing, and enjoy a tasting of freshly brewed tea. Afterward, we depart for Kandy. Upon arrival, we will have lunch at a local restaurant. Next, we will explore Sri Lanka's cultural capital, visiting the Gem Museum, the picturesque Kandy Lake, and the city's lively streets. We will conclude the tour with a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa), the most revered Buddhist shrine in the country. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Optional Activity: For those who wish, a scenic train ride (at an additional cost) from Nanu Oya to Peradeniya can be included. The journey takes three and a half hours. The train is subject to availability, reservations must be made at least one month in advance, and a passport must be presented to purchase the ticket.

- LAND SERVICES IN SRI LANKA:
Cancellations received up to 31 days prior to the start date of services will not incur a penalty.
Cancellations received between 30 and 22 days prior to the start date of services will incur a penalty of 25% of the total cost of services.
Cancellations received between 21 and 15 days prior to the start date of services will incur a penalty of 50% of the total cost of services.
Cancellations received from 14 days prior to the start date of services will incur a penalty of 100%.

-Guaranteed departures from 2 passengers.
-The deadline for requesting reservations for this tour or extra services will be 21 days before arrival in Sri Lanka, except for entries between July 19 and August 30, which will be 30 days before arrival in Sri Lanka. After this deadline, any change or added service will incur an emergency management fee. Requests for changes or new services cannot be guaranteed after the booking deadline.
-Possible changes in accommodations: If any of the hotels included in this program are not available at the time of requesting the reservation, an alternative will be offered with the corresponding price revision.
-Triple rooms generally only have 2 beds.
-The breakfasts included in the hotels have assigned times according to the policies of each hotel establishment, generally between 06:30 hrs and 09:30 hrs. Outside the hours established by each hotel, the passenger will lose this service. Room service or breakfast bag have an additional cost.
-Early arrival at the hotels does not guarantee that the rooms will be available. Standard check-in times apply unless additional nights' accommodation are purchased to ensure immediate access to rooms. Rooms are generally available from 3:00 PM. On the day of departure, rooms are available until 10:00 or 11:00 AM (depending on the hotel).
-Free time: During free time, guests are not provided with transportation or a local guide.
-Possible route change: Our representative in Sri Lanka has the full right to modify the program for the benefit of the client or due to force majeure. If weather conditions or other events beyond our control require it, the order of the itinerary may be affected.
-Photos and videos: in some places in Sri Lanka it is not allowed to take photos or record videos, please check with your guide before starting the visits to avoid misunderstandings with the local authorities.
-Special foods: cases of food intolerances (allergies, celiac disease, vegetarian food, etc ...) must be communicated before arrival in Sri Lanka, although it is not possible to guarantee any type of special diet or menu.
-Consumer withdrawal: the circuit is sold as a closed package, so there will be no refund or discount for services that customers decide not to enjoy or in which they cannot participate due to personal, medical, flight schedule or other events.
-People with reduced mobility: many places in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, hotels and Transport is not wheelchair accessible, please check and notify before booking. Any additional assistance costs required during the tour will be the responsibility of the customer.
-Luggage: In the event of lost luggage by the airlines, it will be the passenger's responsibility to manage the claim and call the company directly to arrange delivery or compensation that may apply. Luxotour will not be held responsible for any processing due to lost or broken luggage.
-Behaviour during the trip: in the event that a passenger's attitude endangers the operation of the tour and/or causes inconvenience to the rest of the group, the passenger will be forced to leave the circuit without any type of discount or refund for the services that he/she cannot enjoy.
-Credit card: generally, hotels require the passenger to have a credit card or a cash deposit as a guarantee in order to facilitate the services of telephone calls, extras in bars and restaurants, minibar, laundry, room service charges, etc.
-Personal documentation and entry requirements in Sri Lanka and the Maldives: it is the client's responsibility to inform themselves about the current regulations regarding entry and exit of the country to which they are traveling, as well as to carry the personal documents required by the authorities. Luxotour assumes no responsibility in this regard. Please note that visa, transit, entry and health requirements vary from country to country and may be subject to change at short notice.
Published prices for children are only valid for children under 12 years of age and sharing a room with two adults. From the age of 12 they pay as an adult. Maximum 1 child per room in the Sri Lanka tour.
