These organisms produced oxygen on a massive scale, and their presence caused the atmosphere to change to the conditions we know today; thanks to them, life on the planet was possible. Along the way, you will be able to observe a great variety of this vast flora and fauna. After an hour and a half on a narrow road, we will arrive at the archaeological site of Calakmul, considered an important Mayan city located just 25 km from the border with Guatemala. In Calakmul, more than a hundred stelae are scattered around the area, bearing witness to its dominance over the region. From the top of one of its structures, which is the largest monument at the site and, for some, the largest by volume in the entire Mayan area, you will be able to contemplate the "green sea" of the immense Mayan Biosphere Reserve. After the visit, we continue to Palenque. Picnic lunch that you can enjoy during the trip. Arrival at the hotel and the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay.
