Sensations in India itinerary

Day 1: HOMETOWN – DELHI

Departure on a regular flight to Delhi. Night on board.

Day 2: DELHI

Arrival at Delhi International Airport. After baggage claim, an English-speaking assistant will welcome you with a Mouli (**) and escort you to your vehicle for transfer to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel (*) and the rest of the day at leisure. Delhi, the capital and second largest city of India, offers visitors a rich tapestry of culture, architecture, and human diversity. Its history, monuments, museums, art galleries, gardens, and exotic shows make it a prime destination. Accommodation. (*) Rooms will be available from 3:00 PM. (**) A Mouli is a sacred red cotton thread used as an element during religious ceremonies in India. It is believed that this red thread protects the wearer from evil. When tying the Mouli, mantras are usually recited to invoke the priest's spiritual power.

Optional activities: This afternoon you can choose to book an optional excursion at an extra cost, such as a visit to Humayun's Tomb, a ride on Hauz Khas, or a visit to the Temple of Akshardham.

Day 3: DELHI

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for a visit to Old Delhi. The tour will take us to Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. Later, we'll visit Chandni Chowk, Asia's largest wholesale market, a vast area teeming with shops, bazaars, and local people. There, we'll enjoy a fascinating rickshaw ride through the narrow streets of Old Delhi and see a panoramic view of the famous Red Fort. We'll stop for a chai experience, a local tea. We'll also visit Raj Ghat, a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. Then we'll continue to New Delhi for a panoramic tour, passing by India Gate, the government buildings, and Rashtrapati Bhavan (the President's residence). Lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, we'll visit Qutub Minar, the tallest minaret in India. Next, we'll visit Agrasen Ki Baori, a traditional 14th-century well built during the Tughalq period of the Delhi Sultanate. Finally, we'll visit the Sikh temple, "Gurudwara Bangla Shahib," an important site in the Sikh religion. This Sikh temple in Delhi is a beautiful white marble building, distinguished by its large golden dome. After the city tour, you'll have free time to explore Connaught Market, the bustling heart of the capital. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: DELHI - SAMODE - JAIPUR

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Samode, our first stop of the day. Located on an ancient caravan route, Samode is a peaceful village with local artisans producing printed fabric and glass bracelets. Situated within its old walls, the highlight of the Palace is a grand Durbar Hall with its original paintings and mirror work. Lunch at the Samode Palace, followed by a drive to Jaipur. In the afternoon, we will attend an Aarti ceremony at the Birla Temple. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: JAIPUR

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for the city tour, beginning with Amber Fort, whose construction was started by Raja Man Singh I in the 16th century and completed by Maharaja Sawai Singh in the 18th century. The ascent and descent to the fort will be by jeep. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, visit the City Palace (Maharaja's Palace), known for its blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. We will also visit the Jantar Mantar (Astronomical Observatory), built in the 8th century, which consists of 13 architectural monuments that were used as astronomical instruments. We will pass by the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), where we will stop for photos; the Albert Hall building; the Birla Temple; and Johri Bazaar, which is beautiful at night with all the lights surrounding it. We will also visit other local markets. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 6: JAIPUR - FATEHPUR SIKRI - AGRA

Breakfast at the hotel and departure by road to Agra. En route, we will visit Fatehpur Sikri, also known as "the ghost city," built of red sandstone by Emperor Akbar in honor of the Muslim saint Sheikh Salim Chishti. Lunch at a local restaurant. Arrival in Agra and check-in at the hotel. Agra, the city known for its famous monument to love, the Taj Mahal, India's most famous monument, is located on the west bank of the Yamuna River, in one of the great plains of northern India. In the afternoon, we will visit the city's viewpoint for a different view and perspective of the Taj Mahal from the other side of the river. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 7: AGRA

Early morning departure to visit the legendary Taj Mahal, built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Queen Agra, in the 17th century. After the visit, return to the hotel for breakfast. Afterward, we will set out again for a stroll through old Agra, exploring its hidden alleyways. We will also visit Agra Fort, the throne and stronghold of successive generations of the Mughal Empire. Lunch at a local restaurant and the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: AGRA - ORCHHA - KHAJURAHO

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the train station for your train to Jhansi. Upon arrival, transfer to Khajuraho, with a stop en route to visit Orchha and its temples, which boast unique architecture. Orchha is the former capital of a princely state and features beautiful palaces and temples built by its Bundela rulers between the 16th and 18th centuries. Highlights include the Raj Mahal Palace and the Lakshminarayan Temple, whose interiors are decorated with remarkably well-preserved paintings. We will make another stop en route for lunch at a local restaurant. Arrival in Khajuraho, check-in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 9: KHAJURAHO - VARANASI (Benares)

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to visit the erotic temples of Khajuraho, which represent some of the finest examples of temple architecture in North India. The temples were built during the Chandela dynasty, most of them constructed during a sudden burst of creative and religious energy between the mid-10th and 11th centuries. After the visit, return to the hotel for lunch and then depart for Varanasi. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: VARANASI (Benares)

Very early in the morning, we will enjoy a boat ride on the sacred Ganges River. We will observe the purification rituals and offerings made by pilgrims at the Ghats. Later, we will take a walking tour through the narrow alleyways of the city and observe the daily life of the local people and Hindu pilgrims. We will then return to the hotel for breakfast and the rest of the morning at leisure. Lunch will be at the hotel. In the early afternoon, we will depart on an excursion to Sarnath, a holy city located 10 km from Varanasi. There, we will visit its ruins and the Sarnath Museum, which houses some of the most spectacular Buddhist artifacts. We will return to Varanasi, and at sunset, we will take a rickshaw ride followed by an Aarti ceremony along the Ghats of the sacred Ganges River. During the ride, we will see some of the Hindu temples located on the riverbank. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: VARANASI - DELHI

Breakfast at the hotel and free time until your transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Delhi. Upon arrival, transfer to a hotel or restaurant near the airport for dinner.

Day 12: DELHI

Transfer to Delhi International Airport.

Flight from New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport to your hometown.
