Negombo is the name of a town and beach in the Gampaha District, in the Western Province of Sri Lanka. It is the destination where tourists and travelers usually begin and end their trip to Sri Lanka. Colombo International Airport, Sri Lanka's main airport, is located less than 10 km away.
Negombo Beach is not one of the best in Sri Lanka, but it is a good place to rest and relax. Besides sunbathing and walking on the sand, the beach is a perfect place to see what the locals are like and how they interact, from fishermen going about their business every morning to children with their families flying kites at sunset.
