Lopburi

This city has a long history dating back more than 1,000 years, when it was known as Lavo. All the ruins that can be found in Lopburi are Khmer temples. Later, they were part of the Tai kingdoms and the reign of King Narai the Great of the Kingdom of Ayutthaya in the middle of the 17th century. It is a city with ancient temples and ruins, and also known as “the city of the monkeys”, since among its temples you can find countless monkeys that welcome those who visit the city.
