Mekong Delta

It is one of the most spectacular places in Vietnam. It is a river delta that forms when the Mekong River and its network of tributaries flow into the South China Sea. The Mekong River rises in the Himalayas and before flowing through China, Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia. At 4,880 kilometers, it is the eighth longest river in the world. For Vietnamese people, the Mekong Delta is very important because more than half of the rice and fish consumed in the country comes from this region. Not only is it important for the livelihood of only the Vietnamese, Vietnam is the second largest exporter of rice in the world only behind Thailand. In recent years, it has become a major tourist attraction. People come to observe the life of the people who live there, everything revolves around the water, with its famous floating markets and towns.
