What to see in Tam Coc?

Pagoda Bich Dong
Bich Dong Pagoda is one of Ninh Binh's most famous landmarks, attracting both domestic and international tourists with its ancient beauty and sacred significance. This site is not only an ancient pagoda but also a historical and cultural relic that preserves many of the country's spiritual values. The pagoda is nestled amidst stunning natural scenery, with the tranquil Ngo Dong River winding around majestic limestone mountains. A peaceful and quiet place, it is ideal for those seeking purity and tranquility. This pagoda is not simply a place to worship Buddha but also a symbol of the connection between humanity and nature, between Buddhism and the mountainous landscape. The pagoda's three-tiered structure comprises the Lower Pagoda, the Middle Pagoda, and the Upper Pagoda, each tier representing a stage of the spiritual journey.

Hang Ca, Hang Hai and Hang Ba Grottoes
Tam Coc, meaning "three caves" (Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba), is explored by small boats that navigate the Ngo Dong River. This place is known as "Ha Long Bay on land" due to its limestone cave system. These caves were created by the transformation of seawater, rainwater, and geology. These transformations have eroded the cliffs over millions of years. Hang Ca is the first and largest of the three caves, measuring 127 meters long with a 20-meter-wide entrance. Hang Hai is the second cave, 60 meters long, with many platforms and horizontal stalactites. Hang Ba is the third and smallest cave, measuring about 50 meters long.
