Most large international corporations have offices in Auckland, as it is seen as the economic capital of the country. It is the headquarters of the Oceania Football Confederation. Interest in visiting Auckland has grown considerably in recent years, favored in large part by the success of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, since some of its scenes were filmed on the outskirts of the city.
