What to see in Auckland?
Sky Tower
It began construction in 1994 and, after 2 years and 9 months, it was inaugurated on August 3, 1997. It is a 328-meter-high telecommunications and radio and television broadcasting tower, located in the center of the city which has 3 viewing points that the public can access and from which you can get impressive views of Auckland and its surroundings. It has become one of the city's largest tourist attractions, receiving some 700,000 tourists each year.
Auckland Museum
This museum tells the story of New Zealand, its place in the Pacific and its people. It is a war memorial for the Auckland Province and is home to one of New Zealand's three major heritage libraries.
