Ouarzazate

City located south of the Moroccan High Atlas famous for being the gateway to the Sahara desert. Located in a privileged enclave surrounded by the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the Todra Gorges and the Draa Valley.

What to see in Ouarzazate?

Kasbah Ait Benhaddou

Located 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate, it is possibly the most famous kasbah in Morocco. A fortified town built in the 17th century, where its walls and houses are built of adobe and wood. Originally, this place served as a stop for merchants who made the route between Marrakech and the Sahara. Today, this place is a mandatory stop for any tourist traveling to the Moroccan desert and the natural setting where several Hollywood films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator or series such as Game of Thrones have been filmed.

Kasbah Taourirt

It is an adobe fortress built in the 18th century by the Glaoui tribe to control the gold route that went from Marrakech to Timbuktu. It still preserves its original structure with its crenellated towers and adobe walls. Inside, you can visit the rooms of the Glaoui dynasty and learn more about the history and culture of the region.
