The Murchison Falls, located in Uganda, were discovered in 1864 and are one of the main attractions of the White Nile. Lake Victoria, shared by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, is one of the main sources of water for the White Nile. The Murchison Falls have a drop of 43 metres from their source in Lake Victoria to their mouth in the White Nile. The journey ends with a violent waterfall that sometimes rips rocks from the bottom of the waterfall. It is also called “the devil's cauldron”, as it is considered to be the most powerful waterfall in the world.
