What to see in Province of Punta Arenas?
Manuel Antonio National Park
It has an area of 683 hectares of varied and beautiful landscapes. It is surrounded by a lush, very humid tropical forest and on its trails you can see white-faced monkeys, sloth bears, coatis, raccoons, iguanas and many species of birds, as well as the squirrel monkey, endemic to Manuel Antonio, an increasingly threatened species as it becomes only 1,500 individuals according to the most recent census. The park also protects 12 islands that represent excellent refuges for several species of seabirds. It has excellent beaches: Espadilla Sur, Manuel Antonio and Puerto Escondido. Likewise, there is a 14-hectare lagoon and a mangrove swamp. Punta Catedral, which connects Manuel Antonio and Espadilla Sur beaches, is a place of great natural beauty.
