It is the largest park in the world (even larger than Central Park), covering over 4 square kilometres. It is often the venue for various outdoor events. The park is a mix of parkland with lawns, botanical gardens and natural bushland on Mount Eliza. It offers panoramic views of the Swan River and Darling Range, is home to 324 varieties of native plants, 215 known species of indigenous fungi and 80 species of birds. In addition to all this, Kings Park contains the State War Memorial, the Royal Kings Park tennis club and a reservoir.
