Nidaros Cathedral is the quintessential symbol of Trondheim and a must-see if you're in the city. Getting to know the Cathedral isn't enough just to admire it, even though it's truly fabulous. The Cathedral itself has had to be rebuilt numerous times since it was completed around 1300. Although its construction is primarily Gothic, you can see older sections in the Romanesque style.
