The temple was built by Amenophis III and Ramses II in the 18th century BC, and was linked to the Temple of Karnak by the famous Avenue of the Sphinxes. One of the obelisks at the entrance to the temple was taken to the Place de Concorde in Paris. After visiting Luxor, we headed to the Karnak temple, the temple of Amun Ra (the sacred precinct of Thebes) which is full of obelisks, columns and gigantic statues.
