The Lake Manyara National Park Area is a complex and fascinating place. The constantly changing vegetation features dense forests of mahogany, fig trees, and wild mangoes, fed by dozens of underground streams draining from the Ngorongoro highlands—a paradise for colorful birds, monkeys, and shy antelopes—open woodlands, favorite areas for elephants and impalas, and then the savanna, full of herds of buffalo, wildebeest, zebras, and giraffes.
