Fort Portal

Fort Portal or Kabarole is a city located in the western region of Uganda. It is the seat of both the Kabarole district and, historically, of the Tooro Kingdom. This city represents the epicenter of the Batooro ethnic kingdom, a current monarchy with no political power and whose circular pink palace stands on the highest hill in the city.

A must-see for all primatology lovers, who come to Uganda willing to delve into the thickets of the Bwindi, Mgahinga, and Kibale forests in search of mountain gorillas and chimpanzees.
