Central Otago Region

It is an area located in the interior part of the Otago region on the South Island of New Zealand. The area is dominated by mountain ranges and the upper reaches of the Clutha River and its tributaries. A powerful, sunny landscape, with ancient eroded mountains, fields of alpine herbs and fast-flowing rivers.

It is the southernmost wine region in the world, where you can enjoy some of the most spectacular landscapes in New Zeeland. It is surrounded by mountains and its more than 140 wineries offer very different styles of wine, with elegance and high quality.

Its cold winters and hot summers favor the production of wine of the “Riestling” and “Pinot Noir” variety, making This area is the closest wine-producing region to the South Pole in the world.
