Geilo

Geilo, located between Oslo and Bergen, is one of Norway's best-known mountain destinations. Geilo specializes in mountains and mountain sports. In the summer, there are countless activities to discover: hiking and mountaineering, cycling and mountain biking, rafting, kayaking, horseback riding, and much more. In the winter, you'll find skiing fun with a wide range of slopes and trails and great experiences for the whole family. These include ice swimming, snowshoeing, sledding, fatbike tours, and a sauna. Downtown Geilo has a wide variety of shops and restaurants, and the hotels offer excellent spa facilities and playgrounds for the little ones. The many lakes in the area are popular fishing spots. The town is also an ideal place to stop off before setting off on the popular Rallarvegen cycle route.
