City located in Coconino County, in the state of Arizona. It is a planned community near the Arizona-Utah border. It was developed for the workers who built the Glen Canyon Dam in 1957. Located on Manson Mesa Mountain, overlooking Lake Powell's Wahweap Bay, the city has become a major tourist destination due to its strategic location for access. to many of the natural attractions of the state and its neighboring state of Utah. The area was part of the Navajo Nation Indian reservation, but at the time the Federal Government reached an agreement with the tribe to take charge of the territory in exchange for a larger area in the state of Utah.
