The Las Vegas Strip, also known as The Strip, is a 4-mile (6.4 km) stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard just south of the Las Vegas city limits. The Strip is one of the most filmed and photographed thoroughfares in the United States, and probably the most famous, along with Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles and Fifth Avenue in New York City. Most of the Strip is designated as an All-American Road and is therefore recognized by the United States Department of Transportation as a cultural, historical, scenic, recreational, and recreational destination.
Many of the world's largest hotels, casinos, and resorts are located on the Las Vegas Strip. In fact, 18 of the 25 largest hotels in the world are located there. The Strip is quintessential Las Vegas. This neon-lit thoroughfare is lined with exclusive casino hotels. The vast hotel complexes house gambling halls, all kinds of shops, restaurants (from conventional to luxurious), and nightclubs with musical, comedy, and circus performances. Crowds gather to see shows, such as the magnificent choreography of the Bellagio fountains, or to ride the High Roller panoramic Ferris wheel.
On the Las Vegas Strip, in addition to the hotels and casinos, there is one of the most visited shopping centers in the city: Fashion Show Mall. The lower floor houses clothing stores, and the upper floor houses restaurants and fast food chains.
The best time to walk the Strip and enjoy its atmosphere is when Las Vegas dresses up: at nightfall.
